Introducing Michael Reid: Executive Council Member

Michael Reid has served on the MCEC Executive Council since 2023. “I care about the future of the Mennonite church in Canada,” he says, “and I appreciated the offer to do some of the work of helping us navigate challenging times—and perhaps strengthen our witness as a result.”

From Classroom to Congregation: How the Journey Program Strengthens Ministry in MCEC

When Maciel Arias Hernandez first began the Journey Program at Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary, she didn’t see it as a step toward personal achievement.  Instead, she understood it as an invitation to listen more closely for God’s calling.  It was an opportunity to deepen her theological understanding and strengthen her ability to help lead her congregation, Toronto Mennonite New Life Church.

“I love education,” Maciel says simply.  “When you learn something nice you want to share it with people you love.”
